Powerful Thermal Optics The Merger LRF XL50 is the first pair of thermal imaging binoculars to incorporate such a powerful 1024×768, 12µm, <40mK NETD thermal sensor, which, combined with a 50mm f1.0 objective lens, ushers in the next level of thermal imaging — achieving a consistently stunning picture at distances of up to 2300m, regardless of the magnification level. Highly Detailed Thermal Imagery The Merger LRF XL50 will retain excellent, high quality thermal imagery across its entire 2.5x-20.0x magnification range, offering improved focus and better object recognition over long distances than any other pair of thermal imaging binoculars. A smooth digital zoom allows a user to change the device’s magnification by 2x steps or continuously for a fully customisable field of view that can be altered to match any situation. Integrated Laser Rangefinder Understanding the distance between user and their observed object is an essential factor when it comes to decision-making in the field, which is why the Merger LRF XL50 features a seamlessly integrated precision laser rangefinder to offer a measuring distance of up to 1000m ± 1m in single measurements or continuous scanning modes for reliable, error-free assessments in the observation area. Three Sensitivity Amplification Levels The Merger LRF XL50 features three adjustable sensitivity amplification levels which, combined with new filtration algorithms and fine brightness and contrast settings, allow for excellent long-range thermal detection opportunities regardless of adverse weather conditions. These sensitivity amplification settings help to define an animal’s anatomical features whilst achieving clear rendering of objects and the background in the binoculars field of view. Classic Binocular Design The Merger LRF XL50 retains the classic design aesthetics of a traditional pair of daytime binoculars, providing users with incredible thermal detection capabilities in a devices that has been ergonomically designed to be comfortable over long periods of observation whilst remaining familiar in the hand. Six function buttons have been placed in a comfortable and convenient arrangement, with the most-used digital functions activated with a single touch. Comfortable Viewing Experience With an adjustable interpupillary distance of 62-74mm, the Merger LRF XL50’s design takes into consideration the reduction of eye strain experienced when receiving visual information through two separate channels simultaneously, resulting in a much better performance in low contrast scenarios than would be experienced whilst using a single-channel thermal monocular. 8 Colour Palettes Effective observation of the field of view can be achieved thanks to the addition of eight selectable colour palettes. These colour palettes allow the user to optimise the Merger LRF XL50 for specific scenarios and adapt to changing conditions. White Hot, Black Hot, and Red Hot are perfect for object detection; Rainbow and Ultramarine will increase recognition and identification capabilities; and Sepia, Red Monochrome, and Violet are best for long, night-time observation. Calibration Modes Three calibration (Manual, Semi-Automatic, and Automatic) equalise the microbolometer temperature background, eliminating defects and ensuring a consistent image quality. 10 Hours of Battery Life Powered by a dual battery system using two rechargeable batteries (one built-in 4 Ah battery and one replaceable 3.2 Ah battery), the Merger LRF XL50 will provide up to 10 hours of power on a single charge (depending on temperature). An embossed design on the replaceable battery’s body enables quick and easy determination of accurate battery positioning, making replacement of a flat battery a breeze, even in darkness. Display Off Mode & Instant Start-Up For the power-conscious user, Display Off mode temporarily stops observation, reducing screen brightness to a minimum, with all other systems within the device remaining operational. Restarting the device with instant-start-up is achievable in just 3 seconds. Highly Durable Design The Merger LRF XL50’s high-quality magnesium alloy housing allows for constant use in harsh conditions. Remaining both light and strong, the bodyshell ensures this device is always comfortable to use, whilst protecting the internal components against shocks, drops, moisture, heat, and cold. This durable housing also acts as a heat sink, effectively dissipating heat produced via internal electronics and increasing the consistency of operation over long periods of observation. IPX7 Waterproof The IPX7 waterproof rating adds an extra layer of protection against adverse conditions such as heavy rainfall, snow, and high levels of humidity. The device will remain operational when immersed in up to 1m of water for up to thirty minutes. Operating Temperatures Designed to operate perfectly within a wide range of operating temperatures, the Merger LRF XL50’s housing, power unit, optics, and electronics will remain flawlessly operational in temperatures from -25 to +50°C. Built-In Video Recorder A built-in still image and video recorder will capture all those must-see, once-in-a-lifetime moments for the user to replay and share with friends and family. With 16GB of internal memory, this device can store hours of videos, or thousands of photos all at the touch of a button. Footage or photos can then be transferred to a computer using the USB-C connection, or via the Stream Vision 2 app’s 16GB of free cloud storage. Built-In Wi-Fi Module Features an integrated Wi-Fi module, offering improved connectivity across its 2.4/5 GHz waveband support. The standard 2.4GHz Wi-Fi channel required to connect to a smartphone is complemented by a 5GHz connection to offer better bandwidth, faster data transfer rates, noise immunity, and improved connection stability — providing a more productive, easier operation when connected to a smartphone or tablet.
