Master the moment with incredible speed, resolution and all-round performance

Incredible 45-megapixel resolution meets breath-taking speed up to 30fps and up to 8K 60p RAW video. The result is a camera that excels in every genre of visual story telling. DIGIC Accelerator technology powers Dual Pixel Intelligent AF – now with next-generation Eye Control AF and Action Priority mode. A max ISO 51,200 sensitivity (extendable to ISO 102,400) is supported by in-camera Neural Network noise reduction, for amazing results in low light. And this super-connected camera lets you get content to the client quickly, reliably and easily. The EOS R5 Mark II masters it all and lets you conquer your creative ambitions.

For photographers and filmmakers of all genres from wildlife, reportage and portrait photography to filmmaking, interviewing and documentaries., the EOS R5 Mark II is a camera that empowers you to shoot your most creative work yet.

Features and benefits

DIGIC Accelerator meets DIGIC X for exceptional performance

EOS R5 Mark II’s Dual Pixel Intelligent AF and Eye Control AF set new standards. Sharp focus is maintained on moving subjects, even when briefly obscured from view. Action Priority mode detects players in football, basketball and volleyball, moving the active AF area in response to specific actions – such as a shot on goal made from a high-speed pass.

Where speed meets resolution

Whatever the story, the EOS R5 Mark II speaks your language. Shoot incredible 45-megapixel photos at 30fps speed and 15-frame Pre-Capture, or capture sumptuous 8K 60p RAW video that truly impresses. Whatever your needs, the EOS R5 Mark II unlocks new ways to be creative.

Switch to hybrid

Use the full width of the EOS R5 Mark II’s sensor to shoot sensational 8K footage – rich in detail and crop-friendly during editing. 8K 60p Light RAW portrays moving subjects with silky smooth motion. 14-bit colour depth offers fine gradation and wide dynamic range. With EOS R5 Mark II’s Dual Shooting function, you can simultaneously capture 33.2-megapixel (16:9) photos at 7.5fps while also shooting Full HD video.

When the pressure is on, get connected fast

Get your photos and video back to your client more quickly and reliably than ever, whether you’re connected wirelessly with Wi-Fi 6E1 or tethered via USB. Choose an optional battery grip to connect via 2.5G BASE-T Ethernet.

Powerful performance built on advanced technology

The EOS R5 Mark II is brimming with advanced technologies, including our revolutionary RF lens mount, that empowers you to be more creative. An up to 8.5-stop Image Stabilizer lets you shoot hand held with slow shutter speeds, while customisable controls let you set up the camera to suit the scene and your shooting style. All this from an agile, robust design that inspires creativity from the moment you hold it.

New Technology Explained

Advanced 45-megapixel stacked image sensor

A next-generation full-frame back-illuminated stacked CMOS sensor combines stunning resolution and dynamic range with incredible speed and video capabilities. A max ISO 51,200 sensitivity (extendable to ISO 102,400) is supported by in-camera neural network noise reduction, for cleaner, more-detailed jpeg images.

DIGIC Accelerator

The EOS R5 MARK II sees DIGIC Accelerator and DIGIC X image processors working alongside each other for phenomenal performance.

AF tracking of people, animals and objects is improved – even objects that are momentarily obscured from view are tracked continuously and kept in sharp focus

Action priority recognises key events in football, basketball and volleyball and moves the active AF point in anticipation

Stills and video can be captured simultaneously, thanks to the DIGIC Accelerator’s ability to process large volumes of data at speed

Go large, with in-camera upscaling

Deep-learning means that images can be upscaled in-camera by up to four times, generating high-resolution versions for cropping or printing at huge sizes. The same deep-learning capability delivers incredible noise reduction for smooth, detailed images at high ISO sensitivities

Action Priority focus mode

When shooting photos with the EOS R5 Mark II’s advanced electronic shutter, the camera’s DIGIC Accelerator processor lets it identify significant actions in three sports: football, basketball and volleyball. The camera automatically switches the active AF area to a person performing the kind of a critical action that has traditionally been hard to shoot, such as a shot from a high-speed pass.

Next Generation Eye Control AF

Select an AF area, or a subject to track, simply by looking at it. The use of newly developed optics and a revised line-of-sight algorithm enhances the accuracy of the system, compared with the EOS R3, and broadens the angle over which the system is effective, for a more natural experience.

Pre-continuous shooting

15 frames are buffered continuously while the shutter-release is half pressed, and written to memory card when you actually take the shot. This lets you capture images from the previous ½ sec, so you nail that decisive moment. At slower shooting speeds, the pre-capture time increases, giving you even more flexibility.
